If you wonder when is the fashion boundaries pushed and challenged then look no further cause Paris Haute Couture week is your answer to that. Haute Couture, you ask well it is the french word for high fashion. Haute Couture garments are sewn by hand and made with expensive material. These garments are specially made for the clients based of on their body measurements. This is the high fashion version of getting clothes made from your seamster back in the days. The only difference here is that the seamsters are Chanel, Versace or Armani in this case. Paris Haute Couture Week ( Jan 25- Jan 29) 2015 showcased a range of designers with great collections. We loved the collections and stories that these garments narrated. Some collections as well as their inspirations that caught our eye are these:
Atelier Versace

Henry Matisse inspired Spring 2015 Couture collection of Versace. The collection was beautifully curated with strategic cutouts to show enough skin to make this collection runway and red carpet ready. One of the most interesting parts of this collection was the usage of primary colors.

Giambattista Valli
Head Designer : Giambattista Valli

Giambattista Valli featured collection inspired by the Metropolitan Museum’s Impossible Conversations, a “dialogue” between Elsa Schiaperelli and Miuccia Prada. For those who don't know about this exhibit it was based on a Vanity Fair Column called "Impossible Interviews", which chronicles fictitious dialogues between characters with different ideologies. Taking that concept further his collection showed personalities of Coco Chanel and Janis Joplin. The juxtaposition of feminine approach of Coco Chanel with Janis Joplin's rock and roll edge made this collection an interesting one.

ARMANI PRIVE
Head Designer: Giorgio Armani
In the Armani prive couture collection for spring 2015 we saw asian influences. The leitmotif of bamboo in this collection indicated the asiatic influences. Just like bamboo this collection exhibited delicacy and strength. The delicacy could be seen in the materials used such as gazar and organza. The silhouettes provided the strength in the collection.
