What: Double-breasted refers to a coat or jacket with wide, overlapping front flaps and two parallel columns of buttons.
Where: Dress, Blazer, Suit, Jacket and Coat
Fun Fact: It has descended from 17th centure military uniforms and frock coats. Found in 2 configurations six-on-four and four-on-two. The first figure indicates the number of buttons on the front, the second the number of those that function. Middle button should be buttoned and inner button is called a jigger.
